What’s up everybody? I apologize for a lack of updates this week – I guess I could apologize for lack of updates this month. What can I say? June is a busy time of the year for me. The vacation, the marathon training, basketball league and a whole slew of other events have taken up all my time. I guess as much as I apologize, I really make no apologies for trying to live a balance life. I normally don’t talk a ton about myself in these blogs, but for whatever reason, I’ve decided today I’m going to talk about some of the stuff that makes me who I am. Plus, whenever someone comes up to me and asks a question that I don’t overly want to answer, I can just say “dude… check out my June 24th blog entry” and quietly walk away.

Work – I normally don’t talk about work just because I’ve read horror stories about people who have been fired from their jobs because of what they wrote in their blogs. I like my job and I hope to stay here a long time. Everything at work is good as far as I’m concerned. I’m staying busy, but I can’t say that I’m in over my shoulders.

Running – I think I made mention in my last entry that Grandma’s didn’t exactly go ideally. I’ve planned out my marathon training for Twin Cities. I’m really going to get after it averaging 77 miles a week with a high week of 90 miles (!!!) in my 12 scheduled weeks of training for Twin Cities Marathon. I also have a handful of shorter races starting with a 5k or 10k this weekend (haven’t decided), a 10k on July 4th, a 10-miler in DL on July 16th, and a couple half-marathons in August and September.

Girlfriend – Everything between Sara and myself is great. I actually went wakeboarding at her cabin for the first time ever this week which was awesome. I hang out with her more days than not which is definitely a good thing. For those of you who actually know, I hope you get to meet her soon. Plus, in about one month I will officially pass my “longest relationship ever.”

Movie Watching – I’ve been slacking! Whenever I get free time, I seem to watch (in order) Freaks and Geeks, Friends, or Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I have a couple new (to me) documentaries (Comedian, Riding in Vans With Boys) that I want to see and I’ve also got Coach Carter on the way. I guess summer is too nice to sit around and watch movies. Plus, it’s hard watching movies with Sara because I talk through the whole thing and then about 40 minutes in, I always wonder what the heck the movie is about.

The House – Paying for it still stinks, but otherwise everything is good. I need to paint my room and get new carpet and I need to paint the outside before the summer is over. I wish I had more free time that I could spend landscaping. I think I just need to take a full Saturday and try to get as much done as possible. Ideally, I’d like to finish my basement when I get a chance, but that is still a ways away unfortunately.

Basketball – I haven’t been able to get to as many tournaments as I’d like because of Grandma’s and because a lot of them are during the week. I have been helping ref and even a little bit of coaching on Wednesday night league. I’m going to be in charge of the JV team when we go to Saint Cloud for a weekend in July.

Music – I haven’t found any good new “summer” music, so I’m sticking with some tried and true genres. I’m doing a lot of screamo, but I’m also starting to dig some slower music like Mae and Coldplay… even Dido (if you can believe that!) It’s nice having both a cd player and an auxiliary input for my iPod in my new ride (Honda Element), though, because I’m able to listen to whatever kind of music I’m in the mood for or else just randomize it.

The Website – I’ve been doing some cool things (in my humblest of humble opinions) lately. I think the photo gallery is starting to come around to the point where I wanted it to be all along. The forums are still around and I’m still hoping to get about 5-10 more posters who are very consistent. I dunno… it’s been a while since we’ve had anyone new, though. Thanks to my Grandma’s report, I’ve had close to 1,000 hits over the past three days which is very good for me. A few of those people seemed to have check out other parts of the site. I dunno… I’m trying and I think I have a solid webpage, but is there anything y’all think I should do differently? I want brentnet to be one of the most unique and coolest blogs on all the net… is that even possible?

Hollaback Girl is proof that Gwen Stefani has completely fallen off the relevancy charts. I miss Tragic Kingdom-era No Dout.

Can’t think of much else today. Have yourself a wonderful weekend and be sure to come back again sometime. If you missed it, be sure to check out my Grandma’s Race Report – you can help share in my misery. Yeah!

If you’re out on your bike tonight, do wear white,
