Been busy over the last few weeks. Sorry for a lack of updates. Here’s what’s new:
I know the last few updates I’ve said I’m getting really close. Now, I can say that I’m getting really, really close. As in, within the next 7-10 days, I think I will have a completed movie. So when will you get a chance to see it? More on that later.
I’ve pretty much finalized all of the music choices. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be introducing you to all of the artists who very generously donated a song or two to the soundtrack. I encourage you to at least check them out. And if you like what you hear, I know they’d really appreciate it if you buy a song, cd, dvd, tshirt… whatever. They are all bands that I would consider myself a fan of, so hopefully you like the music as much as I do.
I’ve waxed quite poetic on how difficult getting music was. I probably sent 500 emails with requests for about 250-300 songs. I wound up getting the rights to 18 songs. I’ve also produced some original stuff myself. Hopefully, when you watch the movie, you don’t even know which songs are mine and which aren’t.
I had quite a bit of advise on what to do for music. A few people suggested I just get generic music. Anyone that knows how into music I am knows that’s impossible for me. Music can make or break a movie and it was a ton of work, but I’m 100% glad that I put in all the work. I’m so thankful to all the musicians who offered up a song. I hope you’ll be very pleased with the end result.
As I near the end of this project, I have to say a thousand thank yous. Thank you to all of the tv stations who let me use their footage. Thanks to all of the journalists who have let me use their photographs and use their stories as a reminder to the details of the season. Thanks again to all of the musicians for letting me use their art to help better tell our story. Thank you to all of the players and coaches for sitting down to be interviewed. Thank you to all of you for all of the positive feedback. Thanks to all of the medical personal that helped to save the life of not only Zach, but myself as well. I don’t say thank you to them enough, but without them, neither of us would be here. Finally, thanks so much to my family – especially my wife and daughter – who have been very understanding and giving of their time for me to work on this. It’s been very difficult at times, but I hope the end result is worth it.
Lastly, we have some excited news to announce tomorrow. Not to spoil our big announcement, but it could possibly be release date related. Or not. You’ll have to check back to see. This entry was posted in Blog by brent and comments are closed.
