I’ve felt this way for close to 10 years now, I’ve noticed within the last handful of years that the new generation of hip hop artists seem to be infinitely better than the generation before them. Part of me wonders if this new generation grew up listening to Kanye West, playing with GarageBand, and listening to all kinds of different music that was suddenly more accessible thanks to the internet.
The first time I heard A$AP Rocky, I kind of dismissed him. It wasn’t that I thought he was necessarily bad. It was just kind of the same feeling I had about Tyler, The Creator, Kreayshawn, or J. Cole. Just not my thing.
